Informed Decision Making

When I was writing my about me information for this website and I had to choose the most important sentence to set as an excerpt so people will know what the page is about I picked the sentence I’m obsessed with informed decision-making and family-centred care.

It will come as no surprise to anyone who knows me, especially to my friends and colleagues at Informed Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond. That’s how I would describe myself. We’re all pretty keen on giving families information and cheerleading their unique decisions.

If you want to know more about why we’re so focused on informed decisions check out one of the blog posts I wrote for the IPBB blog 10 Things You Need to Know About Informed Decision Making and if you’re local to the South East Hampshire area come along to a meet-up some time.

We live in a society where we’re constantly bombarded with other people’s thoughts and advice about how we should live our lives and never more so than when it comes to our decisions about pregnancy birth and parenting. We can often feel overwhelmed with all that advice and sometimes it even feels like we should just go for the easy life and do what we’re told. But I’ve found that when I really find the fun in my life it’s when I’ve managed to ignore all the advice and opinions and tune into what my gut is telling me is the right choice for me. That’s when I can really relax and that’s when I start to feel like maybe I can cope and not always be overwhelmed.

So that’s what I’m here to offer you -a safe space to choose the information that is helpful to you and the support to have confidence in your own unique choices.
